To celebrate Brenda's and Gretchen's birthday we have decided to host a "YUMCHA" party, if only everyone could be there, but (there's always a but), as we all know, it is not possible.  Let's just keep the tradition alive guys!!!

A Busy Month

Yes it was, not busy as in busy (well you get my point)...  busy in such a way that a lot of people I know are celebrating their birthdays in the month of February.  Some how, somewhere, between April and June an event occurred creating an influx of births a few months after.

Cha-cha, Chi-chi, Pareng Willie, Pareng Arnel, Evelyn, Mommy Sion, Ella, Edwin, Arnel my cousin, and Brenda (you know who).  This list only includes people I’m in contact with.  How about Nanay, It was her birthday too..  and a lot of other ones I know but not in my direct line of sight....  Anyway....  To everyone I know celebrating their birthday this month of February...

Just want to greet them all.  A Happy Birthday...

Once in a while...

Yes, I’m back, back to where I came from, not necessarily where I want to be (at this point it still is).  After a short stint in Singapore it only took a 3 hour plane ride to Manila International Airport  It was not that far compared to the 8 hour plane ride from Sydney to Changi International Airport.  Again I reiterate, I am not a fan of plane rides I fi  could drive from one to point to another I will.  Anyway, the timing of my arrival was, should I say, spot on it was on the 29th of January 2 days before New years eve.  We arrived around 10 pm so there was not much we could do as it was close to midnight already.  However, I manage to owe the local Sari-sari store a case of liquid gold (not oil bit San Miguel Beer), that is another story though.  Writing this, it is now the 3rd of January 2011 , happy new Year by the way, and so far I’ve managed to:

Catch up with my old friends
Celebrate again, one of the happiest New Year bash
Ate a kilo of tender juicy hotdogs
Ate 100 pesos worth of pandesal
  Ate Sansrival  from Goldilocks
  Ate Mocha rolls from Goldilocks
  Make tusok tusok fishballs
Had lunch with my in laws in Cabalen
  Had weightless bacon for breakfast
Drank coke on the smallest coke bottle you could imagine
Gone back and forth everywhere on a motorbike
  Had six baluts so far
Played billiards on a proper billiard table
  Played bowling
Drove to the Domestic airport and back
Met up with the Trinidads at Via Mare Shangrila
  Met up with the Villanuevas
Met up with the Del Rosarios
  Ate at Chowking
  Ate at Jolibee
  Had a cold shower
  Shopped at Shangrila
  Shopped at Sta. Lucia
  Shopped at  Galleria
  Shopped at Ever
  Saw Pocyo’s Shop
  Had a giggle with Brianna
  Discovered Cha-cha as pregnant
  Had tapsilog
  Contacted my old boss

That was a long list isn’t it.  And it’s just the beginning.

Trip to Singapura

At last, after 48 years in this earth, I’ve travelled to another country, not a state, not a province, another country and so far it has been exciting.

The plane ride was a bit choppy, don’t know why.  Maybe to get here we had to fly over Victoria, Western Australia, Christmas Island, or I’m just a bit paranoid in planes… Anyway, we are here..  From the airport we checked in at Holiday Inn at the Orchard City Centre and off to the Night Safari.  WE were picked up by a shuttle van which stalled in the middle of the highway.  The driver was apologetic, but what could we do.  In just a few minute the van started again and we were off.  We arrived at the Singapore Flyer where we were met by our tour guide (yes we had a tour guide, feeling tourista talaga)

The Night Safari tours included a buffet dinner (ours anyway) and the dinner was fantastic, or maybe I was just hungry.  After dinner we went straight to the tram for the tour itself, the tour guide was trying to get us in front of the line, but that is another story.  The line to the tram tour was so long it reminded me of the time I got in line to get pizza when we went to see Jack Johnson at the Domain in Sydney.

Finally getting in the tram we took the tour which lasted for an hour and finally sat down to have that world famous Singapore Sling for $16 (a bit expensive but paminsan minsan lang naman).

Then back to the hotel and off to sleep at 11:30 pm, 2:30 am Sydney time.

and the adventure continues….  :)

John Lennon

Sad to say, our Christmas Party, wherein, we were suppose to portray recording artist from the 90’s and older and perform a song made popular by the artist you are portraying (ang haba!!!  I’ll just call it, costume party), toned down to a simple Christmas get together.  Some are busy, I know I am, but I was willing to do a John Lennon.  Some are just lazy, I know I am, but I was willing to do a John Lennon.   Some just have no idea, I know I’m oblivious, bit I was still willing to do a John Lennon.
Enough of John Lennon... Maybe Next Year, when you think of another theme, I’ll still be doing John Lennon.

Kidding aside, we have to step up next year... and then I could do my John Lennon.

Energised!!!

It was Monday morning, I was awakened by a loud emergency siren, it was one those alarms you hear when a submarine is sinking, why I chose that alarm to wake me up.  To tell you the truth, that sound knocks me off my senses.  It was like somebody getting you out off bed with a slap.  But that is not my story.

My story, is my Saturday.  Without any alarm, without anyone nudging me off, I wake up at 5:30 am, make my first coffee provided by pareng George (I’m a proud member by the way of “Samahang maseselan sa kape”), then start my Saturday morning walk, 5 kilometers back and forth, more or less.  To be specific, I walk 2 and a half kilometers to Mcdonald’s and 2 and half kilometers back home.

Honestly, that long walk to get breakfast, is more filling than having it home.  VICTORY!!!
